Baby Shower in the Napa Room
I chose Terra Nova for my daughter’s baby shower because of their selection of Italian dishes, full bar, and warm, friendly wait staff. Because there were 19 guests, the Napa Room was offered since it can hold up to 26 comfortably. It made for an intimate party with room for our own cake, and wine which we purchased from the restaurant.
I was given a package explaining: (a) Banquet Planning and Procedures, (b) a Banquet Menu from which we could choose 1 salad from 3 and a Lunch Menu of 13 dishes from which I could choose 3. The entrees ranged from $22.95 to $33.95 per person. There were fish as well as beef, chicken, and veal dishes. We were allowed one Dessert Selection which they served after the cake we had purchased had been served to everyone and also a Kids’ Menu. I did not choose an entree at the most expensive end of the selection.
My assortment of items to be offered to guests included: the Terra Nova Field Green Salad with Red wine Vinaigrette, Chicken Parmigiana served with Garanelle Pasta Tomato Basil Marinara, Lump Crab Stuffed Tilapia with Lemon Buerre Glaze, and Slow Braised Short Ribs with Wild Mushroom Tomato Risotto. One of the guests could not eat the Red Wine Vinaigrette for gastric disturbance reasons. When asked for Ranch Dressing instead, we were told they did not serve it and a Balsamic Vinegar was accepted as a substitute. The guest stated afterward that it was very good and did not give her discomfort.
Only compliments were heard from others in attendance and my Braised Short Ribs were very tasty as well. Even my husband enjoyed them.
The waitress(es) was very warm and friendly. She took our orders with a smile and brought wine when we needed it. Guests could ask for drinks from the bar if they wanted.
All in all, it was a great party for my daughter, and the room had a small patio attached to it for use by anyone who needed to sit out in the open or just to get a breath of fresh air. We were told we could decorate with balloons and banners as long as we cleaned up afterward.
